Born in Portugal, Silvino Santos (1886-1970) falls in love with the Amazon River. At the age of thirteen, at the turn of the century, Silvino crosses the Atlantic to the glorious Amazon as it was fantasized by the Europeans. In 1913 he makes his first feature documentary film. He was set to live an adventure alongside some amazing characters, witnessing significant events from the apogee to the fall of rubber monopoly. Shooting in the Amazon since the beginning of the 20th century, he becomes a legend of the jungle and one of the pioneers in filmmaking in Brazil.
